After 13 years of Android, I gave iPhone a shot. Three things I liked: FaceTime, the flashlight, and the face ID. Seven things that irked me: the green and blue bubbles, random animations, inconsistent back button, navigating to settings, texting from the keypad, and messing with messages. Three things that blew it for me: no fail-safes for alarms, Gmail being whack, and no scheduled texts. Back to Android for me. 😉

Toggle📱Three Things I Enjoy About the iPhone
I’ve been an Android user for 13 years, so trying an iPhone 15 Pro was a big change for me. Here are the three things I actually enjoyed about the iPhone:
Enjoyed Features | Details |
---|---|
FaceTime | Exceptional call quality and seamless video calling experience |
Flashlight | Different brightness levels, giving me better control |
Face ID | Fast and effortless, often forget it’s even there |
🤔 Seven Minor Annoyances
While the iPhone experience had its positives, there were 7 minor grievances that I encountered during my time with the device:
- The confusion of green and blue bubbles in messaging
- Random animations and features that felt unnecessary
- Difficulty finding the date on the phone
- Lack of consistency in the back button placement across different apps
- Time-consuming access to settings for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Inefficient text input and cursor placement
- Inadequate email notifications and handling, particularly with Gmail
🚨 Three Major Deal Breakers
Despite the positives, the following three deal breakers ultimately led me to return to Android:
- Alarm Fail Safes: Android provides alerts to prevent incorrect alarm settings, whereas the iPhone does not
- Gmail: An inefficient and less user-friendly experience compared to Android
- Lack of Text Scheduling: A critical feature for efficient communication that the iPhone lacks
In conclusion, while the iPhone has its strengths, the minor inconveniences and major missing features have led me back to Android. The search for the ideal smartphone continues!
