The iPhone 15 Pro experience was surprisingly enjoyable for an Android enthusiast like me. But there are some key changes Apple needs to make before I switch full time. From app sideloading to a better notification system, these improvements would make a huge difference. If Apple can address these, I might just make the switch. #AndroidUserPerspective π±

Toggleπ± Introduction
All right, so late last year I switched to using the iPhone 15 Pro for my in-depth review and whilst The Experience wasn’t perfect, I was also kind of alarmed how much I enjoyed using it. I mean, I am a true Android Enthusiast and yet it was the closest I’d ever come to wanting to switch to an iPhone full time. Now, if you follow the channel, you’ll know that I ended up back using Android, but given it’s now 6 months since the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro, I thought that it would be fun to switch back to it for a few weeks to try and really get a grasp on what I think are the most important changes Apple would need to make before I did switch over full time. In fact, I’ve come up with seven features or changes in order of the least to the most important that I’d like Apple to address.
Key Takeaways
Here are some key takeaways from my experience with the iPhone 15 Pro after six months:
Feature/Change | Importance |
---|---|
App Sideloading | βββ |
Spam Messages/Calls | ββ |
Screen Customization | βββ |
App Library Organization | ββ |
Clipboard Functionality | ββββ |
Notification System | ββββ |
Universal Back Gesture | ββββ |
π± App Sideloading
First up, a feature that is not a deal breaker for me but one that I’d still love for Apple to implement is app sideloading. Funnily enough, this is actually a feature that is supposedly already in the works, but it looks like it’s going to be incredibly restricted and not at all how I’d like it to be implemented.
π± Spam Messages/Calls
Second up, Apple seriously needs to implement some sort of feature that deals with the issue of spam messages and calls. I’ve been surprised at how many more spam calls and messages I’ve received on my iPhone 15 Pro over the past few weeks alone compared to literally any Android phone I’ve used over the years.
π± Screen Customization
The change I’d love for Apple to make is to give us more flexibility over screen customization. Whether this is by implementing more home screen options natively or giving us more grid sizing or allowing third-party icon packs natively, it would be a welcome addition.
π± App Library Organization
Apple needs to address their app library organization. For some baffling reason, the apps are all sorted automatically into folders and more often than not, users find themselves having to use the search bar to find the app they want.
π± Clipboard Functionality
Is it 2024 and we still do not have a clipboard history on iOS? This is a feature that I use all the time and absolutely adore when using an Android device. Seriously, Apple needs to get their act together and implement this feature.
π± Notification System
The iOS notification system is something that has been a pain point for many years. It is still just much worse compared to Android’s notification system. If Apple wants users like me to consider switching over full time, they need to revamp their notification system completely.
π± Universal Back Gesture
Implementing a universal back gesture is why I saved it for last. This is something that almost every single app does differently on iOS and in some cases doesn’t even work at all. It just makes navigating in and around apps way more clunky.
In conclusion, these are the seven features and changes that Apple needs to implement for me to consider switching over full time. These points have become emphasized and amplified all the more since I switched to using the iPhone Pro for the last few weeks. Do you see a future where Apple implements all of these changes? Let me know! Thank you all very much for reading!
